James Lucente, DDS, MD, Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. James Lucente, by virtue of having a father in the military, grew up on Army bases ranging from Fort Leavenworth, KS to Verona, Italy, but considers Hollywood, FL as his hometown. He attended Florida State University and upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he got to Texas as soon as possible. He attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX where he graduated at the top of his class with honors. Following dental school, he attended the University of Texas Southwestern medical school where he completed his medical degree. Medical school was followed by an intense year of general surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital spanned a total of 3 1/2 years and was completed in June, 2004. Residency training spanned all areas of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and included training in facial trauma, cosmetic surgery, anesthesia, corrective jaw surgery, dental implant surgery, as well as dental surgery. By undergoing this extensive training, it provided Dr. Lucente with the scope of knowledge to treat all issues relating to the oral cavity and the face. Dr. Lucente travels routinely to continuing education conferences in order to stay abreast of the latest technologies and treatments in the specialty. Continued training in such areas as implant dentistry helps ensure the best care for his patients.

When not at work, Dr. Lucente spends time with his wife, Lyndsey, and his children, Callie and Katelyn. His hobbies include playing the drums, playing poker, and spending time in the gym in order to stay physically fit.
